Pediatric Eye Exam Plainview

Pediatric Eye Exam Plainview

At Pediatric Associates of Plainview, we are committed to being your home away from home when it comes to medicine. As pediatricians, we aim to help parents raise their children to be as healthy as possible. When making an appointment with our office, know that your child’s comfort, along with your peace of mind, is our top priority. Dr. Ilyse Nayor and Dr. Brian Rabinowitz are pleased to introduce you to Pediatric Associates of Plainview, an independently owned and operated practice. Our philosophy, dating back to when we initially began this practice in 1999, was and is to give quality pediatric care with a personal touch. Contact us for a Pediatric Eye Exam Plainview.

Dr. Nayor and Dr. Rabinowitz are board-certified pediatricians, fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics and members of the Nassau Pediatric Society. Since completing the residency program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center (Cohen Children’s Medical Center), all three doctors have remained involved in teaching.

Dr. Nayor and Dr. Rabinowitz know that communication and knowledge are essential when it comes to providing individualized care. That’s why we keep ourselves well informed on the latest trends and studies in pediatric care.

Since opening our doors in 1999, we’ve stayed true to our philosophy by putting a personal touch on pediatric care. We’ve focused on building relationships with our patients at each developmental stage in their lives. Over the years, we’ve grown these relationships by understanding each child’s unique strengths, interests, family, and medical history. By doing this, we’ve been able to give children the personalized attention they deserve. We are aware that all children develop at their own pace, and that’s why we always set time aside to listen to our patient’s questions or concerns during appointments. As our patients age, we make time to talk privately with teens and young adults about their own concerns. Without communication, we wouldn’t be able to help patients and their families live healthy and happy lives!

Pediatric Eye Exam Plainview

Have you noticed or has your child complained about vision problems and/or difficulty seeing things from a close distance or far away? If yes, then you are strongly encouraged to have your child’s vision checked. Giving a child who needs glasses can open them to see the world in a clear new way. If you believe that your child needs Pediatric Eye Exam Plainview you should contact Pediatric Associates of Plainview. Our doctors and nurses are well-trained and caring, to provide the best care for your child, to assess the problem at hand, and to develop the best plan of action to address the problem.

Children wear glasses primarily to provide clear vision and to see the world around them. Not everyone has the same vision problem. Children experiencing vision problems should be examined by a doctor to accurately diagnose the issue. Such different types of eye visions problems could include:

  • Myopia (Near-sighted)
  • Hyperopia (Far-sighted)
  • Astigmatism (differences in the shape of the eyes)
  • Anisometropia (differences in perception of each eye)

Signs that your child might need glasses

There are many things that you as a parent can look for when determining if you should get your child tested for glasses. These signs are possible indications of vision problems. Some signs to look for include:

  • Squinting
  • Having difficulty seeing further away
  • Rubbing eyes often
  • Sitting closer to television or other screens
  • Complaining of eye pain or headaches
  • Clumsiness or tripping over things
  • Having difficulty with simple sports activities
  • Struggling to read and/or write

What to do if you notice these signs

The best thing to do if or when you notice these signs is to contact your pediatrician for an eye evaluation test. They can determine whether or not the child should receive glasses to clear up their vision. When the doctors perform a Pediatric Eye Exam Plainview they are assessing the following:

  • Depth perception
  • The health of the eye
  • The alignment of the eye
  • Any other underlying problems that they might be experiencing

It is important to make sure that your child receives an eye check annually to make sure that their vision is clear enough to see well.
